Teen Mitzvah Projects

These projects are undertaken in conjuction with B'nai Mitzvah studies. We are so proud of our teens in their pursuit of Tikkun Olam. We hope you can support their efforts. Please see links below for details for individual projects.

“Supporting the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees "

“Wanted - Gently Used Sports Equipment"

Harvey is collecting used sports equipment for the Kids with Dreams Foundation, a non-profit organization based out of Maple Shade, NJ. Their mission is to distribute equipment to younger athletes. No ones should be denied the opportunity to play sports.

Noah Norton

“Donate Sports Equipment so All Kids Can Play"

Noah wants to make sure that all kids get to play sports even though equipment can be expensive. He would like to encourage all those in my community to donate any gently used sports equipment. Once he gathers it all, it will be donated to All Kids Should Play, to empower those who are more fortunate to provide the gift of sports equipment to those less fortunate.

Jude McMackin

“Helping Animals - Support for the Animal Welfare Association (AWA)"

Jude wanted to build upon his interest in animals, sparked by his love for his cat, Blueberry. Jude decided to support the AWA, the Animal Welfare Association, in several different ways. First, he is donating six weeks of his pay from working as a madrich (teacher's assistant) and office helper at Adath Emanu-El Religious School. Also, Jude and his mom also made four soft, fluffy pet beds to donate to AWA.

“Underwear and Dollars for Angels Community Outreach Distribution"

“Help URJ Camp Harlem”

On May 7th I will become a Bat Mitzvah. As part of my special day I am hoping to raise money for Camp Harlam. Camp has played such an important role in my life by bring me happiness, friendship, and so much more. To give back to the community I wanted to help kids go to camp so I can share this amazing place. I hope you will consider donating to the place that I call home. Jack Goodman

“Eden Reforestation”

Jack is raising money to combat climate change while helping those in poverty. The Eden Project pays local populations in extreme poverty to plant native trees.  This allows the people to reforest their community, helping combat climate change, while gaining steady employment. Click for more information and to donate.

Lily Tepper

“Arts and Crafts Supplies”

Lily is collecting arts and crafts supplies to donate to the Child Life Department at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. The Child Life Department is there to help children through anything they need while at CHOP. Click for more information.

Eleanor McMackin

“Bake Sales for Education”

Eleanor is holding bake sales on February 23rd and 26th. The proceeds will be donated to a Camden school in need.

Logan Banks

“LEGO Replay”

Please donate used or new LEGOS. Bring them to the box in the hall at Adath. LEGO Replay will sort and clean them, then give to Teach for America or Boys and Girls Clubs of Boston. Teach the Power of Play.  Click for more information.

“Ronald McDonald Camp”

Lyla is selling bracelets to raise money to send children to Ronald McDonald Camp.
