AEFTY (Adath Emanu-El Federation of Temple Youth) this year will no longer have a membership fee or a membership sign up. All youth that are members of Adath will be automatically members of AEFTY. For those who do not know what AEFTY is, it is Adath's teen youth group. AEFTY Jr is grades 7th-8th, and AEFTY is 9th-12th grade. AEFTY has fun events once a month such as trips to Baltimore, nights out to jump parks or bowling, even 76ers games! AEFTY also participates in Social Action projects and does volunteering throughout the year, it is a great way to get volunteer hours for school, while hanging with friends! We are excited for this upcoming year and hope all teen night attendees, Sunday morning modrachim, and all other teens join our growing AEFTY family! There will be a welcome AEFTY email with upcoming dates of events and more information being sent out Monday. If you would like to receive this welcome email and/or be on our AEFTY emailer list, please fill out the following Google Form to stay informed! AEFTY Contact Information
If you have any questions about our programming, want to know more about AEFTY, or would like me to know more about you and your family, please reach out to me and I’d be happy to meet.
January 17th-19th: WINSTY for NFTY-PAR (EARLY BIRD ENDS 12/10)
NFTY-PAR will be having their next event for grades 8th-12th January 17th-19th at Shir Ami, Newtown, PA. I highly recommend this event to any teen who has done a NFTY-PAR event or to anyone who is new to the NFTY-PAR Community. If you have any questions about what NFTY-PAR is please reach out to me personally because it is an amazing experience for teens. A little bit more about WINSTY is as follows taken from the NFTY-PAR Website:
“We are excited to try our newly updated WINSTY event schedule this year! WINSTY, our winter institute, is the PAR social action event. Over Martin Luther King weekend in January, PARites gather at a different synagogue every year to learn about social justice work and participate in a variety of projects within the community. Projects range from cleaning a park to working with sick children to cooking for the homeless to sorting clothes for shelters to a letter writing campaign to the elected state representatives. WINSTY is a wonderful opportunity to give back to our community while having fun with your friends.
We will be offering two WINSTY programs for this week. Please read the information closely so that when you register you know which WINSTY program you want to attend.
· Option #1: The FULL WINSTY Weekend - Friday, January 17 to Sunday, January 19 - This is the full weekend event. We will begin on Friday with Shabbat dinner, services with the congregation and a evening program.
